amendment to the labour law

An amendment to the Polish labour law has come into force on 21.2.23

The amendment prohibits workers from working under the influence of

alcohol or drugs. In order to enforce compliance, the employer may perform, under certain

terms. a breathalyzer test, or invite the police.

In case the results indicate the existence of such prohibited substance, the employer may

employ a wide array of sanctions, including termination of employment without

notice. The above measures do not apply to remote working.
