New data has been published portraying the relative wealth of inhabitants
of the various members of the E.U in 2021.
The most useful criteria, is the median disposable income translated into PPS.
disposable income, means income after deduction for taxes and social security
payments. PPS means purchasing power standard. since prices are different in each
country, what counts, is the relative purchasing potential in each different country.
In order to form this index, a notional currency has been created to take the above
into count.
The European average is 18,000 and the figure for Poland is 13.900 being 77% of the E.U
average.
It is worth noting, that Poland has been constantly climbing up the ladder in terms of its relative wealth. PPS in Poland is allready higher than the Chech republik, Lithuania, Portugal
Latvia and much higher than Romania, Bulgaria, Greece and Hungary. on the other hand
PPS in western Europe and Scandinavia is considerably Higher than Poland.
